Found this item today and looking to see if anyone can give some input on it the lamp has no markings so no clue there and what appears to be a gold planners pan it has the Remington emblem and the other side is a dog emblem. The lamp is red globe. I'm thinking this was some type of store display it does not appear to be something someone just threw together but more so a manufactured thing. Any help out there?
The backing would most probley be a reflector.
Zowie, I thought so to but most I have seen were somewhat of a reflective type material and this may have been at some point but not anymore and I'm trying to find out he Remington comes into it.
It looks like a recent made decor item.
AzTom, I question the composite idea but also question the shape of the reflector. The Remington name is very interesting though & the answer might lie in researching that more. Sorry, not my job!
blunderbuss2, been researching all day, nothing! I'm thinking it may have just been a store display or something of that nature. Don't really have a clue
You may be right. Let's just wait I see what our "experts" come up with. A really good & diversified bunch here.
These show up at the antique mall, a dealer there sells all sort of replica antique looking stuff, including these. Many of the items have Remington, Well Fargo and other old names. I checked today and there weren't any reflector lights like this but I'm sure she will have them again.
AzTom I also seen soom today but electrified not actual kerosene lamps so I agree the word replica fits it well, but it will still work for us in our mountain cabin.
I do not have any issues with this type of stuff as long as the vendor is selling them as decor items. I can get riled up when I see them being sold as antique.
I do not care for the names on some of them if they are not paying royalties for using them.
Put a bulb in it, hang it by the front door, never know who may stop by,lol
I wouldn't mind having one to hang, uh, - uh -uh! I don't know where the hell I would hang just one! I need half dozen! They would look good with what I call my rustic antique decor in Lucas' Musee. I use the term "decor" very, very loosely. "Hoarder" is used by friends often, but to date, I can still get to the stove & fridge & found our bed 2 nites ago by putting in my hearing aid & following her snoring. Haven't found her since & thinking I need to move some things! Quick! LOL!!
Maybe it's the maker
