I can not find a hand painted trophy like this anywhere , this belonged to my grandfather and I am trying to find any kind of history on this that I can, is it soap box, Lester mg, etc I haven't a clue. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The car appears to be a 1951 Alfa Romeo 159A F1. See this link : http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/99478-1951-alfa-romeo-159a-f1-car

Very nice! Could be any dirt track racer, sprint type car from early 50's. Because the driver looks so young I would guess 1/4 midget racing.

The car was probably chrome like the base. The paint does not look professional so I would say it was painted, maybe to match their real race car.
