I recently acquired an antique, and I had no idea what it was! so upon further investigating I found it was a very early Carpet Sewing Machine. It has only a few numbers stamped on it and a patent date, but no name.
"19" stamped into two of the five "spokes'
"19" stamped on the inside of the larger gear.
"16?99?" obviously a misprint, on the inside of the second, smaller gear.
"39" stamped above " PAT'D,MAY 4.97."
It turns and everything works very fluidly!! which I cannot believe considering it's 117 years old!!

Really nice! I wonder if the Ford Museum has one of these.
Neat! May still have some on the shelves where I live.
