According to reference materials available, Jay Ward produced a series of 4 watches in 1971 with hand-painted dials. They include Bullwinkle, Dudley Doo Right, George & Ursula and a caricature of Jay Ward himself.
The two watches posted here are Bullwinkle and Dudley Doo Right. Both I believe are powered by 17 jewels Hamilton movements with screw down backs (some do come with automatic movements and possibly higher jewel counts). 'Copyright 1971 Jay Ward Productions' is printed underneath 6 O'clock.
I have yet to come across George & Ursula and the caricature of Jay Ward versions. I suspect these were prototypes and might have featured in the then mail order catalogues but never made productions. Any further information on this will be very much appreciated!
Hope you have enjoyed this post!
