trunkman
(149 items)
Every once in a while I see an unusual trunk but often I do not know specifically how unusual it is until I ask an expert. Thanks to this forum I was able to find out that this type of trunk is a rare find (thanks Drill) -- due to the seven narrow cross slats that are on it. When I purchased it it was painted completely black. I had it for sale, someone came to look at it and I was hoping they would not buy it -- answered prayer -- back in my collection it goes... I'll sell another one...
Thanks for the nice comment nutsabotas6 and mikelv85 for the love...
Thanks T- man I'm no expert, just have seen a ton of trunks while hunting for treasure.(There's never any damn gold in em ). But it is the fist time I've seen seven cross slats, maybe others trunkers have who knows.
Seems like a great find to me! Not my field though.
Thanks BB2 for the nice comment -- I think you have a lot of fields....
Thanks Phil -- glad you like it...
Cool trunk trunkman. I am working on a trunk right now that has that lock face, only going the other way - I love the intricate decoration of it.
Thanks Sherwood trunks... love this lock piece but someone punched out the center facing on this one and screwed in a loop to put a pad lock on it -- well it is effective..
Thanks Sean for the love....

I really love it!
Extremely unique Trunkman!! Not only have I never seen 7 top slats, the very unique lock (even though the center was punched out), but the embossed pattern in the tin is also the most unique I've seen. She's a keeper, in my opinion. Nice work on this one!!
Thanks scott -- I have worked this over a bit more and it really looks fab... but I am coming tot he point of having to let go of one of my beauties... ouch... I have sold all of my "B" trunks and like you I am running out of room...
