This desk belonged to my paternal grandparents and is made of maple. Believe it or not it was once painted a very lite pink. I spent many hours stripping the old layers of paint of which there was a total of 4 different colors. It has beautiful "dove tail" drawers on both the two large ones and the two small ones on top of the desk. On the desk is a very nice older Japanese lamp and several porcelain pieces. Underneath is "Socks" my 20 lb six year old companion checking out for anything that "moves" outside.

***Correction: Socks weighs 20 lb's with the 6 lb carrier, so a 14 lb "sock".

Very nice desk...............I just had to blow up the pic because your 'socks' looks so much like my 'spot' (don't ask) he too is a lightweight at 16 lbs. a very calming item in todays world..........."Tuxedo Cats"..................

I had to read your post twice. lol I was actually off on the weight by 6 lb's on account the weighing was 20 lb's with the carrier. So a 14 pound "single sock" without holes or "spots". lol Also thanks for the comment on the desk.
