These dolls belonged to my aunt, but I have no idea about the history behind them. Each doll is about 10 inches tall. They look similar to the collectible dolls from the 60s described as Arco Gas Station dolls, or Blue Bonnet Margarine dolls. But, none of these dolls seem to match any photos I've seen of those collections. Does anyone recognize these, or have other ideas?
Thanks in advance for any information.
Higher quality than Arco or Atlantic Richfield Dolls . They have shoes on and none of those companies did that they were painted on.Also yours are taller .Are you sure there is not a marking on their backs? I would like to see a close up of one of them with eyes open if you could post it ?
I am thinking not USA made.
are they perhaps celluloid dolls. Those were and are still made in Germany. They would be collectors items
These look like plastic to me . A close up of face of one would help :-)
Thanks very much for the interest....sorry for the late reply....I will try to take a closeup photo tomorrow.
I've added a closeup photo of the face of one of these, with eyes open. Note that the lids are still partly visible; I could not get the eyes to open further on any of the dolls. By the way, all are definitely plastic. Also, I have yet to find a marking inside or out on any doll.
