Was visiting a local antique gun broker in Fairfield County and since I showed an interest in knives, he granted me permission to look through an assorted box of knives that were not priced. I found this Damascus Steel Folding Knife that has no markings other than four Stars (two on both sides). The materials seem to be brass and antler inlays with damascus steel. The blade measures roughly 3.25" and when unfolded it measures roughly 7.5"... It is extremely well made and I believe it to be pre 1900s due to the rivets and patina but then again, I am no expert...

I have searched all the web for any signs of a company producing anything similar and have fell short on identifying anything about the time period this was made, the craftsman/ manufacturer who made it because there are no markings other than the stars..

I would greatly appreciate any insight into this matter for it is driving me crazy not knowing whether it is handmade, an antique or a standard production model folding knife that is not as old as I believe it to be.

    Thanks

I have no clue as they are still making Damascus blades now. They are still valuable even if brand new. Even the production ones are expensive aka Chris Reeve knives etc.
