Not really sure what I have. I was on a thrift store field trip with a good friend and we were having a blast.
Asian looking vase. 14" tall x 9" diameter. Possibly transferware? Some of the black seems to be over the design beneath. The bottom has no marks, and I can not find any distinguishable marks in the pattern area. I was attracted to the border around the top. I am getting a color shift when I upload the photos. The colors are much nicer than what I am seeing on the monitor.
I've selected Asian in the second category,.... I'll edit if needed!
It is Chinese "Thousand Flowers" or "Mille Fleurs" pattern.... Famille Verte. The flowers are peonies, chrysanthemums, carnations and lilies hand painted on a slightly embossed blank.
I'd refer to that as Famille Noir (black ground). Nor do I think that the floral design can be refered to as the Mille Fleur-pattern which has a lot more, and many different, flowers. It's very hard to put an accurate date on chinese porcelain from photos but it doesn't look particularly old. I'm no expert on the subject but no earlier than republic, and most likely much later.
I agree with VARGOANTIQUES about 'famille noire' - a form of famille verte with a black background.

That's it!
Anyway, not transferware, it seems hand painted.
Agree with vargonantique for period.
A wealth of information! Many thanks vetraio50, vargonantiques, kyratango, and idcloisonne!
I'd say you're all right on. It does feel both somewhat "produced," and hand painted at the same time. I think the estimate on the age is pretty close too. The bottom and inside feel new-ish.
I am so pleased! Much obliged, Sunnybrook
Again, thanks for helping to identify my vase. I have changed the status to "Solved," and updated the title. :)

Foxterrier9lives, surfdub66, blunderbuss2, I sure appreciate the 'loves.'
Beautiful design and shape. I have lots of vases and eye appeal matters more than intrinsic value. If it happens to be an antique so much the better. :)
mikelv85,
You are very right! I have my vase on tall table of teak. It makes a very nice display. It am still tickled when I think of my find.
Thank you, Sunnybrook
oldandsilly,
Thank you! It does seem to have a lot going for it!
