I just discovered this mended wool-blanket in my dad's old cedar chest (he passed way three years ago at 82). It's really a pretty thing, but it's been mended by some amateur with what looks to be some kind of brown string. It's 76 inches long and 35 inches wide with nice smooth edges, but little feathery short fringe on the ends. Note: Years ago, my dad went back and forth into Old Mexico and worked a silver mine among other adventures down there, so I'm going to "jump the shark" and guess Mexican Native American in origin?? But this blanket looks too old to have been his as a young man. Anybody out there know ? Thanks much!
MexicanSaltillo? what does that mean? Yes it;s quite beautiful even in it's vintage state. I'm just wondering where it came from. Should trash it or trade it? Any other info you can share????
Thanks for the info, everyone. Guess I'll get it cleaned and find a spot for it somewhere on my wall. :) I forgot to add that 30's to 40's sounds about right for it. Sure appreciate the help!
