From my private collection of Magic ephemera, this is an original program printed for Dante The Magician while he toured Italy in 1931. The cover is a stone lithograph and the complete program is in EXCELLENT condition! Dante placed an order for 20,000 copies of this book in June of 1931 while in Milano, Italy (Milan) This is one of the surviving copies.

Inside the program, pictured, is The Cirkus Schumann Theatre located in Copenhagen, Denmark. This photo was taken of an earlier performance there by dante. Notice the striking 8-sheet sized posters out front along with and AMAZING 16 or 20-sheet poster above the entrance way. The theatre still stands today but hasn't held a circus performance since 1990.

Dante toured the world with his show "Sim-Sala-Bim", including on Broadway. "Sim Sala Bim" was Dante's trademark which he used as his magic words. He was often billed as "King of Magicians".

Dante made his last public appearance a week before his death at the combined convention of the Society of American Magicians and the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians in Santa Barbara where he gave a lecture about his tours. He died at his Northridge ranch in San Fernando Valley (near Los Angeles) of a heart attack on June 16, 1955.

virginia.vintage, thanks for the kind words and appreciation for the Art of these Magic relics. If this image disturbs you, you may not want to venture too deep into my collection as some posters are much more dark and sinister, but then again these are the BEST and most striking images in my opinion. Please try and enjoy them for what they are and once were.

      Virginia.vintage,
No worries girl I understand and appreciate your enjoyment of my collection. I see you are from Uruguay, my ex girlfriend is from Florianopolis so she understands only broken English and uses similar words to express herself and describe her feelings. All good, thank you.
