I'm curious about its history. It's very large; it's slightly smaller than my love seat. It has it's original fabric and tag. All I know is that the shelf was made specifically for this brand of trunk. I'd love to know more about it.
Riply206 is way ahead of me on knowledge on this trunk -- as are others who will hopefully weigh in. I cannot tell from the pic whether it is covered in leather or vulcanized fiber (more than likely the fiber). Looks like a nice quality trunk.
Nice trunk!! I'll agree with trunkman and say this trunk has a vulcanized fiber covering, based on the type of binding used on this trunk. I have a couple of vulcanized fiber trunks and they're both trimmed in the same type of binding as yours. These were, in fact, very high quality trunks.
