    Height 34 cm. depth 10 cm, good condition Stand is marble, very heavy.
    There are no markings and I have no idea who made it or what year it was manufactured. any help out there.

      They are based on a painting called "L'Angelus" by JEAN FRANCOIS MILLET that is in the Orsay Museum in Paris, painted in 1857. The Angelus was a call to prayer for catholics to stop work at 6:00 am, noon and 6:00pm and say a prayer. These statues represent the peasants in the field at prayer times. The statuettes look like they are made of Spelter (based on the mold marks on the heads) with another metal layer. The marble bases look too pristine for them to be very old. Depictions of the Angelus are quite common. They are quite nice! BOB
