Looking for info on origin and production. Would have been purchased in the early 1900s. Material seems to be porcelain. Eyes operate open and close on reclining.

Hi kuraidori, Have you looked him over for any marks? There are some very knowledgable doll people on here who will help you.
Jewels,
I did remove the clothing but I was unable to find any distinguishing marks. Perhaps I am not looking at the right area. Thank you for any help, family mystery.
Look behind his neck for mark there will be one or a symbol photo it , I also need to see more of body , I believe I know ho he is but please post 2 more photo's. These are not original clothes to him . Best to photo nude as body is important to see also. I will watch for photos and what it says on lower neck .
also a close up of face with eyes shut . There is something not adding up on him since eyes are wrong for one but until I see more of him I can not tell age . Wish I could hold him and then I could tell but I have to depend on good close ups photos you can remove the one with full body dressed under edit and add 3 more :-)
Manikin
Uploaded new pics and removed blurb about clothes. Thank you so much for helping with this mystery.
I am not ready to give a answer since eyes and painting of lashes look wrong . Also head should say Germany , give me a day ok . I wish I was holding her , The body also shows no wear which is very odd .

Is the body a different material than the head? Maybe a marriage? I don't know why I'm chiming in--I only owe about 4 or 5 dolls myself, but I always love them, but not an expert like Mani : DDD
There are small cracks near the shoulders but otherwise seems to be in good shape.
Thank you for your help and work on this.
Any other thoughts?
I still have concerns about this doll. Among some I mentioned look at this and is what a socket head doll looks like see the rounded bottom on yours I do not see that it appears to be broke maybe . Pull up on head it is hooked with elastic and should be able to move it up is it broke on bottom ? The body looks newer to me . There seems to be work done on her that is making it difficult to ID . Check bottom on it ok ?
oops look at this head it is not yours but a socket head

Great job Mani! I took a peek at the link you put an as usual, you are right on the money!
OMG, as I was just looking at this doll and thinking how the colors of the body and head don't match, it made me think about my kids when they were young, 15mo. apart and my son was always pulling his big sisters doll heads off and trying to flush them!!! What a recall!!!
thanks again for all your work on this. I have uploaded some more photos of just the head including some interior shots
So based on photos, body isn't original. Any ideas on origin of this piece?
The head is antique 1910-1920 but had work on eyes and base of neck is broke off . It is now only a piece to decorate with . The country Germany was likely on part broke off .
Thank you for info
