When I was in my twenties, I lived with my grandparents for while. I house sat for them too and that's when I found my grandmother's porcelain. I always like this one and another like it, the most. It's just so pretty and ornate without being too decorative.
Later when she passed I hoped that I would get to possess at least one of these beautiful pieces. However they went to my dad. Later I found these in my step mother's collection. From my grandmother I received many antique linens and some photos (yeah!)
Now 15 years or so have passed and my step-mom has decided to down size. She has passed on to my brother and I that which had belonged to my grandmother and/or dad. So that's how I got this and some other porcelain pieces.
My grandmother liked to leave her wishes and information written on Scotch tape. It had fallen off this piece but she said that these two pieces were given to her by "a dear friend and that they were purchased at Tiffanys 1907. Rare"

Rare indeed. Can't say I've ever seen this pattern but absolutely believe it would have qualified for Tiffany. And 1907 puts it just right. What wonderful stories behind the little things we have.

This piece was made by Morimura Brothers, of Nagoya, which later became part of Noritake. Your mark was in use 1910-11. Here’s a link to the Noritake Collector’s Guild of Australia, where you can view all the marks for free.
