    WOULD LOVE SOME HELP TO ID THIS PIECE . COULD NOT FIND ANY THING ON THIS PIECE ON THE WEB. I'M THINKING IT MAYBE MEDICAL APPARATUS OR A GREAT SIZE FOR A JEWELLER TO COLLECT GEM DUST ,GOLD DUST AND OTHER TYPES OF DUST AS WELL . THE PIECE WITH THE CASE IS 10"3/4 INCHES LONG x 6" INCHES HIGH (without handle) x 6" INCHES DEEP - I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ON THIS PIECE. THANK YOU .

      thank you for your info. small type of sand blasting apparatus not to vacuum. I have yet to add power to the unit .I wasn't sure if it pushed out air or sucked things up.

      Motor, 1/40th horsepower, 1725 RPM, (not gear reduced).
      Gauge states VACUUM, so it is a vacuum pump.

      Yes, looks like a vacuum pump with moisture trap to me. I have a much newer vac pump, but similarly configured.

      I would guess it was for dental work. The vacuum pump is used to degas mold making rubbers for dentures.
