Aghcollect, thanks for that link.
I copied the post from that link as everyone on there has only posted that one item over a year ago.

This is part of a 1920s Indian Motorcycle sidecar shock absorber. I have 4 complete ones and trying to find there value."
I question that this is a shock absorb-er for a side car.
The side car mounts to the bike with a solid connection. and this only has one mounting pad.
They look like some type of damper or stop for something but I don't remember ever seeing anything like it on an Indian.
I can't get the photos to open when I click on them, once I do I will send my brother a photo and see what he says. He has a 1948 Chief and an older Scout.
One of my peeves about this site - the post is still showing as "unsolved" although it was identified - luckily the comments that identified them were still there because when a CW user leaves the site, so do their comments (and "solves")
BillD - just to be clear with you - comment #3 (peeve) refers to the posting at the link shown in comment #1, not yours. :)
This is an early shock absorber made for early auto leaf springs . This is missing the clamp that attaches this piece to a leaf spring . One unit per spring , and indeed made or marketed by Indian Motocycle Co.
