I think the SH is for Simon Halbig but have no idea what the PB in the star stands for. The 1800 should be the mold number. The eyes are inside the head and look to be intact - just came off. Any information would be very helpful.

Hi it is mark of Schoenau & Hoffmeister Dolls 1901-1953 Germany
The Schoenau & Hoffmeister porcelain factory, also known as Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, was located in Burggrub, Germany and was founded by Arthur Schoenau and Carl Hoffmeister in 1901. By 1907 the two partners were in disagreement to the type of porcelain heads for their dolls. Hoffmeister insisted on producing shoulder head dolls, while Schoenau wanted to produce socket head dolls. Unable to resolve there differences Carl Hoffmeister left and Arthur Schoenau became the sole owner. They sold doll heads to other German Companies who put their bodies on dolls and dressed them . Very Nice ! She is called a "Dolly Face" Shoulder head .

One like yours but seller is way off on price so disregard that ! Yours is on kid leather body and The socket heads with a composition body sell higher as they are poseable .

Thank you so much for the information - I assumed the SH was Simon and Halbig - now I know. I am planning on selling the doll and this information was very helpful.

I have had a few german porclean socket head dolls on composition body but this the only shoulder head doll I have had and never heard of that doll maker. This is the first time I ever tried to get information on this site and the results are great

PS you might want to reset eyes by taking off pate and wig slowly all in one piece as you will either have to pack inside head to ship with loose eyes in head or re-glue the plaster that holds them in place . Either way you need to remove pate and wig ,glue is old and should release easy if not a dab of water in a spot on back pate will get it started .
