Special or common piece of furniture? It is pretty. I know it is very, very old but that is all. Thanks!

Nice dressing vanity . It appears to have been painted and that hides the decoration on wood down the upper sides . I would say it was originally stained wood color possibly blond and would look wonderful back to wood except if it is veneer and I can't tell by photo's or what top is made of or original . Photo's do not enlarge enough .

Around 1960 + and looks like contact paper on it.

The scotch tape patch job also speaks of contact paper. This was/is probably maple and may or may not have had a veneer on top. I base that on the fact the top left drawer is partly open in photo #2. Not clear but you see both primary and secondary wood and either finger or dovetail joints. The joints are certainly machine cut even looking at them in a bad photo. It is not at all special but it does have value depending on the condition. I believe this was a catalog item.
