    This item is made of cast iron and measures about 11 inches. It has metal netting with rings that are intertwined. Initially I thought it was a fish net but it is so small, 5 x 4 inches, that I can't imagine what it could hold.

      I have a similar item that I found amoung vintage kitchen tools. I was thinking egg beater but just a guess.
