This was found buried in a dirt floor basement at my dad's old restaurant. My mom say part of it sticking up out of the ground after a flood, thought it was a lamp, and got to shoveling. At first she had no clue what it was because it was crusted over with years of dirt, but after a careful cleansing, we found it was a rather cool and unique Buckeye Root Beer (Cleveland Fruit Juice Co.) dispenser. I did a little poking around but couldn't find much in the way of info about this thing except that it's definitely not one of the more common dispensers. A gentleman who collects such dispensers told me it was possibly made between 1920-1930. Other than crazing of the surface glaze and dirt spots we didn't dare try to scrub out, it's not cracked or chipped that I can see. Which is surprising because my mom is the one who dug it out of there, ha ha. :-)

HOLY CROW. I read a couple of guides that said it could be worth a lot, but there were never any pictures that I could go by to know for sure I had the same dispenser they were describing. Now I wanna get rid of it! LOL THANK YOU, Vestaswind, for showing me that auction!

I've seen the more common ones that people say are from the 20's. Seems to me yours would be earlier than these.

I haven't been able to find too much info on this particular one either, but I suspected it was early 1900s. The restaurant my father used to have had been a pharmacy way back in the day...late 1800s, early 1900s. I can only assume this was a relic from those days. Now to find out how to get rid of it, LOL!!

I LOVE your unique dispenser. I have one from a neighbor's pharmacy. It says patent 1915- it is glass with a chrome(?) spigot. I have no idea of its value. Does anyone know???
