Vulcan Dura-Mark 5-Pin Bowling Pin

This is a rather rare and unusual pin. It is a 5-pin bowling pin. As you might have guessed, there are only 5 pins on the deck. Shorter than a tenpin pin, yet taller than a duckpin pin, it is of intermediate size and unique profile. About 12.5" tall with a 4" girth. 5-Pin is an uncommon form of bowling that is really only played in certain parts of Canada anymore. As a result, finding a 5-pin is tough. Finding one of this vintage, in factory-fresh condition was a stroke of luck. Labeled "Dura-Mark" and "Ethylon Process." I have no information on the particulars of this process at the time of this writing. Sometimes, the pin is set up with a thick rubber band just above the break angle near the base. This is much like the extinct rubber band duckpin bowling type. The rubber band imparts extra action to help keep scoring up as being short 5 pins, the deck can seem pretty empty when that ball blows by.
