This is another item that has caught my eye for years. They were my grandmothers. The embroidery work is really amazing. I would love to go back in time and just watch to see how such as this was made. Truly quality work by someone.

I have some awesome lace items my great grandmother made herself. Did your grandmother make these? Lovely pieces! Happy hunting!

Thanks for the compliment. I'm sure she didn't make them but I remember them from as young as I can think back and she had them on her buffet in the formal dining room. I have numerous lace pieces (doily's??) that a piece of interest would sit on. I remember them from most every room. Underneath lamps, vases and the like. I have spent the last week taking photos of many things but have not got to the lace items. Actually wasn't going to 'til now. My now 13 year old son put all in perspective when he said 4 or 5 years ago, "daddy, our house looks like the "Cracker Barrel".

I've seen them in the past but not the recent past. My Me-Ma had one but it was yellow and had flowers all over it. Now that you just mentioned this, I have no idea what ever happened to hers. If I see one I'll let you know. Hows that?
