Hi, this is my first time with an antique trunk, and I just wanted to post and see if anyone knows any more about it. I just picked it up for $35 and it seems like a early 1900s trunk, but I'm purely speculating on that. I haven't found any markings linking it to a specific company (is there anywhere I should be looking for these?).

I don't know if I will be going through the restoration process or not, but either way, I would love to know more about this pick.

If anyone has any info I would love to hear it. I'll be happy to take more pictures and post them, just shout out what you need a picture taken of!

    Measures 32" L X 20" D X 22.5" H

Also, just wanted to say that this is my first time on the community and you are a very talented group! Some really impressive stuff on here!

Congrats on your first trunk -- a very lovely pick! May there be many more... (not too many though). You have as you rightly speculated an early 1900's flat top trunk. We can date this by style size and most importantly the type of hardware that is on it. Prior to 1900's they used cast fittings that were thicker and more durable (and more expensive to produce). You have found a nice standard type trunk typical for its day -- however few companies bothered to label their trunks and with so many makers producing similar trunks with shared parts it would be difficult to know who made this one. The belt straps and two big guides on the front of this trunk would be extra features that upped the quality and price at the time. Some like these old beauties as is and others like them refinished, so it really is a matter of personal preference and would not lessen value much either way in my opinion. Great find and welcome to Collector's weekly!
