Great and awesome old closet, doors have very beautiful ornaments.
Made of solid wood.
Height 2,53 m, width 1,51 m
According to the seller made ??ca 1800
What do you think, is this true and where is it made?
VERY BEAUTIFUL!! :)
You show very little for construction or joinery. However in picture #3 there is a spearhead joint on the table proper. If the joint is original it is unusual at that location. This looks like someone caulked the joints so it isn't possible to identify from the picture. Seeing the front means very little without seeing the joinery and construction. The spearhead would tend to tell me either not American made or made by an immigrant. European craftsmen were the very last to give way to machine made furniture. They continued to carve after press back, they continued to hand cut joints after molding heads etc. Eventually they gave in because everything was modernized. People won't pay the price anymore for handmade.
Gorgeous piece of furniture!! Absolutely love it.
Thank you all
fhrjr2, I have more pictures of the closet. If you want, I can upload them somewhere online?
Phil, You were right, I talked to an expert in antiquities, who also said that most likely made ??of approx 1850
