This is a very nice specimen of a Vulcan Corporation tenpin bowling pin. The medallion is full of information and indicates the pin was made by the Dura-Mark division of the Vulcan Corp. and that it is "Nylonized" via the "Ethylon Process." Nylon is likely the polymer that constitutes the plastic coating for the clear overcoating. In early plastic-coated pins, the finish was not sophisticated. Plentiful tiny bubbles can be found at the interface between the clear skin and the white underlayer. This is also seen in the Ranger Comet bowling pin also posted here. This pin is ABC sanctioned with a very nice and crisp ABC sanctioning stamp on the rear of the pin. This pin is uncommon and especially so in this near-mint condition.
