Sunnybrook

Just found this on e-bay after a long search. I had one that was my mother's. It sat on the night stand in her guest room. Before she passed away she gave it to me. This past year the cup was broken. I started searching e-bay. I did not have much hope that I would find one, since there are no markings to identify it. Further, in many years (30 plus) of shopping and browsing I had never seen another. It took several months, but I did find it on e-bay.
I thought I had really accomplished the impossible! I had only had the new one for a couple of weeks, and here another turns up at a local thrift shop. The one from e-bay shipped from Indiana, and the new piece showed up in California.
I would sure like to identify the maker and age. The ceramic workmanship is somewhat poor.... but it seems to add to the charm. All of the sets have some blemishes in the ceramic work or glaze. The blue stripes are slightly inconsistent in placement and dimension.
I am not complaining, but I went from being upset at loosing something I didn't think I could replace.... and finding two! What the heck?
Great post Sunnybrook. We have all been there I think....in the desert and then it rains for two weeks, so to speak.
It's a nice set....hope someone can help you with who made it.
Thank you racer4four!
Sure beats the heck out of a plastic water bottle setting next to the bed!
hehe, that's what Kiwipaul named "the London bus effect" : you don't see any for hours and suddenly two arrive!
:-)
Lucky find!
Kyratango,
Thank you. That is an excellent analogy!
