Just one of several very heavy "sharp cut" lead crystal pieces I have. I love the look and feel of this type of glass.

American Brilliant Cut glass around 1900 or so. Look very close at you glass in the light. Get it so the light is moving on the glass and sometimes you can find a signature on the piece. (Acid stamp) O this piece about in the center.
This is probably a celery dish. Nice hobstar pattern.
This is one of my favorite pieces, if not my most favorite. I will do as you said and see if I can find any markings. I have looked at the pieces somewhat closely before, but not the way you recommended. I'll try that. So this piece in your opinion is cut glass rather than lead crystal? There is not a day that passes but what I don't learn something new here at C.W. Thanks for taking a look and for your comment as well. Have a great one...
Hello.......With American Brilliant Cut Glass, "crystal" was not a word that cutting houses used to describe their glass. As matter of fact, the original term used for this glass was "Rich Cut glass," "Lead crystal" is not a brand or type of glass. The word crystal comes from the old saying "crystal clear." Really, what ever you want to call your glass is fine, just enjoy it. It really is nice glass............Mark
American Cut Glass sounds much better to me than "lead crystal". I guess it's just 'cause it has the word lead in it. Thanks again Mark.
