Hello all. I have this what I believe to be sterling thing that I have no clue as to what it is. It measures approximately 4" in length and it has a bulb on each end. There is a place of a pendant or something else. I have no idea what this piece is. Hope to get a bit of help.

I think baby rattle/teether:
Sterling silver baby teethers are a great way to help your baby through the teething process. Silver naturally stays cool for calming the pain of the gums.
The nurse or mom had it hanging from a chain (look at the bale)
