I recently got a pair of these chairs at a yard sale. I am looking for help identifying the style, period, etc. how and where would they have been used in a home? The chairs are very low to the ground, have upholstered seat (looks like they are re-upholstered) and carved wood back. The short front legs have small casters on each. Love the chairs, and would love to know the history of them. Hopefully you can see the detail in the photos. Thanks for any help you can provide!

That cat is the amazing Bebe and the chairs are just her size. Still, we have no clue what those chairs are :)

Apart beeing a perfect cat's seat, these low chairs were used to seat near the fireplace to be heaten from feet to head.
In french they are named "chauffeuse", in english fire side chairs.
