This large tin palm leaf is 22 inches long and about 9 inches tall. it has ball feet and i'm sanding all the rusty paint off it to repaint it. should i paint it close to the original brown or a gold or silver? it's probably from Pier 5 or something. i can't wait to see how it looks on the low tile table i just made!

i've been cleaning this up and i'm unclear as to why there is some rust on it, as it appears to be made of copper. i wonder why?
Copper plated?
i don't think so walksoftly. they have the feel of copper, and they sure don't look copper plated. i think that there was some metal on top of them which rusted on. it's coming off though - slowly.
you were right again, walksoftly! it is copper plated.

clean it up ...lol make a little tent and put in a cup ammonia.for a few mins .to put a nice patina on it ...smiling
