I don't purchase many novelty or custom bowling pins simply because there is no end to the variations and labeling one can find. There are birthday pins, college-logo pins, beer company-branded pins and so on. It would be like attempting to build an exhaustive collection of crayons or paper shopping bags. I jumped on this pin (one of two) because it was provided by the Vulcan Corporation, a bowling equipment company that has made some fascinating production pins. The BPAA is the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, the professional trade organization of owners of bowling centers or alleys. These little guys are exactly 1/2-scale at 7.5" tall by 2.25" wide at the belly and they bear the Vulcan neckband pattern: two rings, top one red, lower one black.
Major BOWL-A-RAMA !!!!!!!
Thank you, PDAM and e4b, you are most gracious. I'm very much looking forward to hitting a few estate sales to expand the search area.
You got it, Phil, it is. Love your Deco focus. Lately I'm enamored of American Streamline design. Cheers!
