HELP! I cannot identify this pottery!

Hi all...I am not a collector but have a lot of stuff my Dad left me that was in his shed, all random and most I can find info. on. But this crock? churn? I have spent hours trying to find and just have had no luck! It is about 1 ft 1/2 tall, and has the 2 gallon clearly etched, but I cannot find the other marking anywhere. I am really curious, to find out about this and several other pieces I have, any help would be appreciated!

I also found an old Metal Scraffts Candy sign, and cannot find ANYTHING close, so if there are any sign collectors I would be happy to post pics to get info. on it....I look forward to hopefully finally figuring this pottery out!
