Estate Sale find that caught my eye. I did not realize how buttons really have History too. To find such with information on it "The Co. name, paten date makes it more interesting to me", I know the lazy way out, :) well on that note. Just wanted to Share my next investigation, Buttons and Collar Pins. The paper box one Reads The King Standard of the world. Gold Shell 3-years wear Guaranteed by Manufacturer. On reverse side reads, United States patented Nov, 17, 1914 Canada Patented 1914, THE C.J. Fox Company, Providence, R.I. Well that is all I know the others appear to be mother of pearl with the button holder pins.
Nice! I love buttons!
Thanks Jewels!
Just great.
Buttons exemplify everything about collecting to me!
They can be very sophisticated or simple, made from just about anything, they can be highly designed, and they are often very interesting; but most of all to me they have history.
Who's shirt? Where did they wear it? When? .....and so on.
racer4four, I agree, lot's of questions come along with the little things that keep us together when formal attire is required. This is becoming an interesting search. The Manhattan Co. is like a needle in a haystack when it comes to information on them. I will be up most of the night searching. LOl I just can't sleep till I find out about this Company. Thanks for looking Racer4four.
Thanks valentino97 !
