My father recently died. I am hoping to donate this figurine to a museum. Both my mother and I recall Dad saying he got the figure by sending in cereal box tops. It had to have been in the 1930s. Neither of us remembers what cereal.
It was not originally attached to the base, but some time in the 1990s my father glued it down, I think with something akin to Elmer's Glue.
He painted the figure back in the '30s, but the paint is still in relatively good shape.
The figure is roughly five inches tall. A monkey (Cheetah?) is sitting between the figure's legs.
I would appreciate any information about the provenance of this figure.
