Curious is this is a victorian pickle castor or something else

    Any ideas to what this was used for? I have been told this is a pickle castor, but can't seem to find one that looks like this. Underneath there are two hand engravings 1-46 CK and 1517. It is either silver or silver plate and has some weight to it. Any ideas if it pickle castor or what it could be?
