Yes, we found this solid, streamlined steamer trunk thrown out in an area of the island with many old homes. Cleaning revealed underneath faintly written a person's name, G R Carter and a ship's name, SS Matsonia. Thanks to the internet discovering that G R Carter was Hawaii's first Territorial Governor and that he sailed on the Steamship Matsonia in 1906 was fast and rewarding in that I never expected to find anything. But the three of us furiously sluething the internet with iphones never had so much fun. We couldn't find any reference to trunks of this design and are curious to know more. Does anyone have any info on this artifact?
Bet you start patroling that road often.
There was choke stuff. We couldn't not stop to look although it's something people here get shame for do. It's like one side of the sidewalk its a treasure and on the other side opala, rubbish, no touch.
And you know, forgot to give dimensions. The trunk is 42 x 19 x 19 and the one photo shows the little wheels the thing rolls on.
