I know its broken but just had to bring it home !!
I actually thought it may have been a Bernard Leach pot as I could see the B on the mark but it was so dirty I didnt look too hard , its not a leach but it could have been !!
Ive seen this mark before & sure it was on pintrest so will check it out later, its 7" h 8"w has chips & cracks looks really old , not worth a penny , got it for free ! Its intresting & I love it ;-)
The mark is PB the p being backwards coming off the B in monogramme.
Thanks to antiquerose the maker is Paul Berman !!

Hello surfdub. A friend in Istanbul just sent me the link to this item. Not sure how she saw it!
Made in early nineties when my workshop was in north Dorset.
Thanks for the Leach idea, though in fact I have always been more influenced by Cardew/ Tustin at Winchcombe, particularly as I started off in Stroud not far away.
      Where did you find it?
      Regards
      Paul

      Hi Paul ,
Sorry I didn't see your comment until today,
I pulled this one from a skip at the local recycling centre in Exmouth Devon UK !!
I can see the Cardew in it as one of my customers has a Cardew tureen which is very similar but a lot larger..
I still have it and will keep it as even broken I love it !
Many thanks for your kind comments and dating it for me ;-)
      Regards simon

Interesting Paul was influenced by Carew and Tustin :)
Wonder if he could check out this piece for me....

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/131352-vase-decorated-with-three-incised-fish

Charles/Charlie Tustin stayed with Winchecombe pottery til let go in 1954 and I'm sure he continued to make pottery after that...
I have two pieces with the same decorations and colors just different shapes.
Both have CT mark that is not accompanied with the Winchecombe mark.
Will have to share my recent one.

I think I can say pretty definitely that this is NOT Charlie Tustin. Not earthenware nor slip decorated nor anything like anything he ever made. He marked C.T. plus the Winchcombe stamp
Simon - intriguing, as I live in Exmouth now. Don't remember dumping stuff at teh tip but obviously I did

      Hi Paul ,
Maybe it was one you sold that got damaged and someone else threw it away ..
Exmouth is a lovely place & I like it here , & if your ever going to get rid of anymore pots think of me !!
      :-) kind regards simon
