I haven't been finding much of anything lately. I did see this vase at Salvation Army sitting on the top shelf last week. I balked at the fifteen dollar price tag on what I figured was probably just another piece of Chinese glass. No doubt the reason it had been hanging around. However my friends in high places were able to see my point of view and let me have it for five bucks. It's very pretty with it's purple interior surrounded by the turquoise glass. The bottom is polished flat with a bit of scratching but no marks or labels. I guess it could be Italian or more likely Chinese or even Japanese. Just don't know. but the price was right and it is attractive. -Mike-
Thanks Ken :) It's either feast or famine at the thrifts. You would think with as many categories that I collect in I could find something everyday...lol.
beautiful!! :)
I don't think it's Chinese Mike, and it is possibly Japanese but they rarely used this purple in their glass.
I think it's more likely to be Murano but let's see what AntiqueRose or one of the other Italian glassies say.
I really like it!
Thanks Sean and Karen :)....if it turns out to be Murano that would be nice !
Hi Mike -- I think this VSL ( Val Saint Lambert) in my opinion. I have a couple of these ribbed vases. One has a concave polish bottom ( Murano) and the other one has a flat base like yours......and was advised it may be VSL. So since you base is like that, I will go with that.
I will try to post BOTH of mine Ribbed vases later for you to see....Okay?
~ This is a very Nice Piece !!! Colors stunning!!
Thanks Rose :)....I look at it every day as it sits on my desk next to the computer monitor.
It might be later I get to it -- Gotta get some other things done here -- but I will post them both....later. Okay??
Okee doke :)
Here Mike is the BLUE MURANO ONE I was talking about. Guess I had posted it all ready here a long time ago. See the bottom of it.
