Hello all. Got this piece and have no idea what it is. Turn the object and a small 3/4" blade comes out. It is about 3" long. The blade is not real sharp and I don't think it can handle being a letter opener. Not sure if it is real gold or not. It seems to possibly be on a pendant chain. It's a mystery to me. Any ideas?

I believe it's an ink eraser.

Scratch that, it does look delicate. Toothpick, perhaps.

I'm not exactly sure what it is, but could it be a piece of a chatelaine?

I think it could be an Edwardian toothpick.

Yes! I looked at some antique toothpicks and chatelaine toothpicks and they look like this--cool find! I bought a tiny little comb that folded out from a sterling case and I thought how cute! Figured out it is a mustache comb, so I cleaned it!

It's funny, each one I find exactly like your's sold as something completely different on eBay ;)

Ink eraser, toothpick, bloodletting knife, sewing knife, etc.
