    I found this at a thrift store and have NO clue what it is. Maybe it was just someone's project, but it is very interesting! It's very sturdy, and smells fantastic. Those dark areas on the flat of the bowl look and smell like pitch. Reminds me of when I was a kid, climbing the Douglas Firs in our yard. There is a handle on either side of the bowl, altho one handle is very long and carved. It almost looks Native American, but really, I have no idea. I just know I like it!

      Real nice piece, It looks like someone was just having some fun creating a nice practical water ladle / drinking cup.

      Yeah, probably. But it's way bigger than a drinking gourd! The bowl part is at least 6 inches across, and it's pretty heavy.
