The M-1 "Ga-rand" was the weapon my dad used to fight the Japanese in the Philippines during the 2nd world war. When I was a boy he had an M-1 carbine. Don't ask me how he got it. I just remember him letting me play with it, supervised of course. The main thing I remember about it was it was extremely heavy. Someone broke into our home when I was just a little kid and stole it among other things. But they didn't get the shells. These I just found in a big box of stuff packed away years ago. Thought they looked kinda cool so here they are. (it's a "guy thing")

Oh, and by the way. I'm not the one who made the small corner tear to one of the two boxes to what it appears is to access the shells. Kinda sad one box has this damage. I know they won't get in any worse shape as long as I have them in my possession.

First off, it was and is called the "M1--Garand" you can still buy them and the ammo you have might be a good sellable item (contact a local gun shop of firing range) try this : http://garandguy.com/...........

      P.S. I don't think I want that around if I didn't have the weapon for it......Just sayin'

Thanks for the correction on the name of the rifle. Now that you mentioned it, I remember that being the case. Just curious as to why you don't think having the ammo around for a gun one doesn't own. I'm just thinking why try and sell them for peanuts (the shells that is) just because I don't have a way to shoot them. Just curious?? I'm gonna change the description to read "Garand" rather than grand. Thanks for looking and thanks for the comment.

That's just me..............it's a safety thing, but ask someone who's a shooter, I have not shot any for a long time but I do know it does go bad and get unstable...might check it out......

I'm just gonna hang onto them because they are old and because they were dads. I would never think of actually putting them into an M-1 and firing the rounds. Personally I don't think they would be a problem, but why take the chance, however remote, that would possibly cause harm to one's self or the piece you were firing it in. Just my thought. Anyway thanks to all for the comments. I went ahead and deleted your comments Kerry as you requested. Thanks to all for looking and commenting.
