My mother bought this trunk from a yard sale and I am getting it back to its' original state. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Year made? (1900's??) I know without a label the maker is almost impossible to identify, but the lithographs used inside of the trunk, what is the significance of that?

They all had lithographs as simple decorations... and yes early 1900's trunk.. fairly rough shape, missing slats etc. as you know -- big project, good luck and welcome to collectors weekly!

Dianne, I actually just acquired what I believe to be the same trunk. I cannot confirm or deny the age, but I would like to point out that the top slats are not missing. This offset was part of the design. I will post photos of mine momentarily . I have seen some other very similar ones online that some believe to be 1890's.

Good call on the slats -- missed that -- unusual design and tin pattern. Do any of you trunkers recognize the tin pattern?

Above is a link to the one I have that appears to be the same thing . Regardless of what we find out it is really cool that there is a twin out there.
