Hi all, Does anyone know about this Persian rug? The label is missing. I bought it at auction where they said it was Persian, but I don't know, I just buy rugs I like. Thanks in advance!

stunning carpet!!
Thank you SEAN! Not sure If I'm going to keep it! My dining room is painted like a sage color and it looks like Christmas! Not that there's anything wrong with that! =)))
your very welcome Jewels!! :) I would keep this just in case!!
I have learned not to be too hasty--been there, done that =)
Wonderful carpet Jewels!!
Thanks again amiga!
Oh nice!!! Gracias amiga :)
it does look like a nice one, but it's v. difficult to tell anything w/out seeing good photos of the weave both in front and back.
Agree with cultcha-- it looks nice but machine woven vs. hand/ knot count/ material/ age are key to determining how "nice".
Have you ever been to a middle east rug souk? It is a great experience if you ever get the chance.

Thank you ho2 and scott! The back is very nice, almost as nice as the front. I had a pretty knowledgeable person come look at it and she says it is "vintage" Persian hand-knotted, but I already rolled it up and dragged it to the basement for now because it looked like Christmas in my dining room =) I have never been to a middle east rug souk, but I want to go! Have you?
Many times!
I lived in Saudi Arabia for 4 years and was a regular.
There is a kind of "dance" to the bargaining that can take an hour or longer, but usually results in a significant discount.
Also nothing is priced, so there are different start prices/ sale prices depending on the look of the customer.

So much fun!!!
I never try to negotiate, I need to learn! My friend (who will ask a discount on 50 cents!) was with me at a flea market, where I wanted to buy a hat stand with a price of 25$--she whispered to me "tell her you will pay 20." I went up and said, "Hi, will you take 20 for this?" She said, "NO!" I paid 25$ haha
As a show dealer (in antique images), I can tell you to ALWAYS ask for a discount when buying at Antique Shows/ Shops/ Flea Markets/ etc...
I usually say "Can you do any better on this?" followed with "Is that your best price?" -- 99% of the time, the seller will discount at least once and probably 50% of the time the seller will discount twice.
Sellers EXPECT to do some haggling over prices.
