I recently purchased an art glass lot at auction. Included in the lot, was this gold aurene (I believe) shade. It measures 4" h x 5" w. Does anyone have a idea when it was made and who the maker could be?

    Thanks
    Rick

      Dear Rick,
It has a wonderful fitter and I believe it to be an American Art Glass shade of the Art Nouveau period. Perhaps Steuben? Can you find any trace of a mark on the inside rim of the fitter? Daylight and the right angle can often solve the mystery. I have seen this shape and this shade. I'll see if I can find out more. There are many people here who could very well take one look and give you the answer as to maker.

Thanks for the info Lisa. I've never owned a shade before and find the glass gorgeous! No, unfortunately there is no mark that I can see. I'm hoping someone out there will recognize it.
