This is a real gem. I have never seen anything quite like this. There is a mechanism that allows you to collapse the table from standard dinner table height 36X36X27 down to standard coffee table height 36X20X16.
The sides of the table are also drop leaf and collapse down. Its quite amazing. There are top quality original brass handles and feet caps with rollers.
The styling is American Colonial, I learned from a previous post on CW that this may be a Mersman table built in the 1950's by the designer Inventor Boris Hoppe Patented Mar. 6, 1951 US2544229 A ??
There is a yellow stenciled serial number on the bottom that reads NO. 1 402
There is also a brand stamp of 3 on the underside of each table panel.
It is in very good vintage antique condition. Would love it if someone could provide a value or more information about it.
Have you found out anything about your table? I have same one but with leather center on it.
Only thing ive found out one like our tables was used on I Love Lucy.
I have this table in a black laquer. My grandmother bought it in the 50's or 60's and that is all I know. I've been looking for more info on this piece too!
