Lisa-light…

I believe this may be the piece shown in Alfredo's post here.
http://cf.collectorsweekly.com/stories/qJVCsFuecx6XOcO0XnZrnQ.jpg
This piece is four inches tall without the lid and four inches across at the widest point. It is more red not orange as it appears in the first image. The colour is better on the second image but the red rather bled into the yellow on the bottom. That doesn't exist.
What a great piece of welz!
beautiful!!!
So very lovely.
Great Welz piece...I want it!
Some believe many glass houses could have made it. Many people understand that.
I for one, do not agree with that. I also think that the simple statement that you do not agree would likely make the point......with the understanding of course, that this is a discussion and learning place for some, and opposing opinions presented in a polite and respectful manner are always welcome.
In the case of this particularly unique and colorful decor and shape, the same shape in the same decor in a green and yellow variant is actually displayed in the Welz case at the Passau Glass Museum.
The image she linked to above from another post is cropped, and the original poster calls into question if the piece shown there like Lisa's is from Tomschik, as opposed to the Welz production shown next to it in the same case. Luckily that question can be easily answered in another set of images from the same exhibition. In those images the piece is actually identified clearly as Welz production, and is the only piece of glass in the picture. Here is a link to the image:

I have also taken the liberty of translating the text in the link:
"One of glassmakers , whose products are on display at the show , is Franz Welz from Hrob in Teplice."
The author of that statement as shown in the link, is a gentleman who has written quite a bit regarding the history and glass makers of the Teplice region in the early 20th and late 19th centuries.
I think people here are simply attempting to offer up additional verifiable information which may allow the piece to be identified, as opposed to simply throwing it in Deco Export bucket and forgetting about it.
Although all Czech glass from this period can certainly not identified, there is at least a percentage of it that can.
This, at least to me, appears to be one that can be quite clearly identified as having been produced by Franz Welz in Klostergrtab / Hrob, and it appears that the Tango exhibition of 2011 in the Czech Republic, and the Passau Glass Museum, would be two such respected sources which agree with that.
I am sure Lisa feels free to weigh the evidence between Czech Deco Export, and Franz Welz Klostergrab based on some information she had possibly not seen before, and make a decision for herself.
I hope this additional information helps.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to look at this little covered sweet dish. As many of you know, shades are my thing in terms of collecting but it is hard to pass things by when they sing to you. :O) So this followed me home a couple of weeks ago with a little tumble up for my guest room. I very much appreciate the sharing and everyone's patience with me. I do forget things and as a result I have inadvertently started the discussion about Welz. I want to say how sorry I am that I have stirred the pot so to speak. I would never forgive myself if I caused anyone to become bad friends here or caused any problems. This site is such a wonderful place for me, and I hope it can remain that way for all of us. Thank you to

BEAUTIFUL Welz-- thanks for sharing.

Lisa, You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. You did not "start" anything You simply posted a piece of quite striking glass that several members here, who collect Czech glass recognized immediately and identified for you. They were simply trying to be helpful.
I simply felt it would be good to add pertinent information for you which would provide the factual background which supported the other members belief that the piece is by Welz. Not all of this glass can be identified, and everyone knows that all too well, so it is nice when a treasure we take home with us can be identified.
This shape and decor are amongst my favorite examples of Welz glass.....
Thanks for sharing it here.
I was looking at my image archives of Welz, and I do not have a good pic of this shape in this decor. Would it be OK if I used yours?
You are welcome to my images. I am sorry that they are not better. As I said I did alter the colour on the second image and the red rather bled into the yellow. It is not at all like that in ''real life."
Sincerely,
Lisa
Thank You very much. I can likely color correct the image to get it to red in the first image..... It really is a Great piece.... and the Red and Yellow variant of this decor is not all that common.....
Isn't it funny that the red and yellow is not that common and yet it is the only one I have seen. ;o) The one I bought and the one seen in that display case at a show?
I wish it was a shade, but it is fun.
Sincerely,
Lisa
Your first image looks orange, and it actually looks like the most common color combination in this decor. This decor comes in a fairly wide variety of color combinations. I love this décor on their most common fan vase shape. It is the shape shown here:

Lisa, its a great decor...in my findings, the red stripes with yellow spots is the more common color combination of this decor, with the green/yellow, Purple/Yellow and Blue/Red the more harder to find. (in my opinion). But this decor is my favorite of the welz...in any color comination, and this piece has a nice shape....Still Wanting it :)
