I inherited this from my great aunt who got it from her parents, wealthy oil people from Oil City, PA. She claims it dates back to the early days of electrification. A roadshow expert saw the pictures and assumed it was depression era glass but a depression era glass expert says that it definitely is not and predates that time period. Has anyone seen a similar piece or have any information about it?

O.k., not bad...i have a few slang glass table lamps. This a painted slag glass hanging lamp, copper (not steel or lead) joining, this is a very good thing. Would have to say pre 1910 or very close thereto. Need to know how many large curved panels there are on the bottom and how many small panels are on the top. Is there any oxidation? i.e., is the copper joining the panels turning green? If it is, for the love of God, do not polish it. Can you describe the insulation around the wires? Is there any damage to the glass? Either way, something special nice here.

Interesting, I found a fixture like this a couple of months ago. Mine is a gas/electric combo fixture. Mine doesn't have the crystals hanging from it. It has two gas jets pointing up above the fixture. Mine is 22 inches wide (green part). Beautiful! Got it at a garage sale. No cracks in the glass.

I am definitely interested to find out more about this light. It is beautiful.

We have that in our 1912 Four Square. Nearly identical except our beads are different as they are strung on and am in need of someone to restring them.
