Hi, I am having a really hard time identifying this doll or it's age, I can't tell if it's Alaskan, Indian or Oriental, has a name, a time period of when it was possibly made. She is 8 " tall, her clothes are made of cloth, reminds me of a really light burlap perhaps, her legs seem to be made of wood, however her hands and face seem to be made of porcelain or bisque . She is in rough shape but I really just love it, I would so appreciate any help in identifying her so I'm able to put a origin to her face. Thank you in advance.
Please forgive me for reposting the same post, I was unable to add new pics, my iPad would not let me drag to edit, and my computer is down
Thank you manikin for your reply, here are some better pics as requested.
And once again soooo sorry.
I'm sorry manikin, I did not delete you post intentionally, I was unable to drag to repost better pics so I had to start over.

Hi Annie, I found this site--the 2 dolls on the left look very similar to yours--they have them dated as 1920's-1930's and Chinese =)
Composition
Jewels gave you a great link . The doll is Chinese as I thought and clothes made of silk did not hold up well . I would date it around 1920-40. These were more tourist dolls than toys to play with . Hard to tell what face is made of composition or Paper Mache without holding it .

look on bottom of shoe see if it says China ?
Oh thanks mani, you were right on--sorry, I assumed composition. I'm going to study the differences =)
Thank you so much for all your help guys, I don't think the face is paper mâché and the bottom of the shoe doesn't say anything......but you have given me a great starting point and I can't thank you enough<3
Oh that's great--Mani is an expert! I really love this doll, so sweet and even charming for the wear =)
Yeah she is pretty beat up, I keep calling her a she when it's probably a he, I must think of a name for my precious little worn out doll:-)
Hi, I like things with some wear, shows love =) I was thinking "he" at first, but now think "she" based on hairstyle? Not too sure though. Maybe a nice traditional Chinese name? =)
Paper Mache was quite common to use on these types of dolls . It looks like compo but lighter in weight :-)
I know absolutely nothing about dolls..but that's ok, I plan on keeping her so any info I get is just for me, I felt compelled to give her some kind of identity, I know...I'm weird....lol
Oh not weird at all! I name everything! =)
