    purchased this on local Craigslist for my 4 year old grandson. it even has the plate on the back with "Board of Education" and serial number. The best part is that the top is adjustable for height and can "grow" with him! and yes, the drawer is already "stocked". (don't think that was original, but matches well). planning to fill the inkwell with a cup to hold his favorite writing tools of the day. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and love the thought of numerous students working at it over the decades!

      Aw, sweet! I have a similar style desk that I found at Value Village. Except yours is so much more elaborate! I am thinking that mine might be just an "inspired" home made item. But, I still appreciate it's charm. :)
